LUMER and the heavy post punk, fashionable and feral allure of "The Sheets"

"a girl so beautiful and wise..."

Hull’s LUMER recently unleashed their video and single “The Sheets” off of their debut EP Disappearing Act out January 29th. LUMER bring the gritty energy with their sound, rightfully gaining swift traction amongst music lovers. Their popularity stems from their strong musical ability and heavy post punk style, pervading to the fashion world much like many classic punk bands have in the past. Hedi Slimane’s recent photos of lead vocalist Alex Evans are reminiscent of those taken of Paul Simonon, Sid Vicious, or Richard Hell which marked a time in history when the attitude of the musical style became an other worldly and iconic admiration. The video for “The Sheets” portrays this phenomenon as well, filmed by Matt Molson in Hull to carefully illustrate the intense and seedy sound of LUMER. Check out the video and immerse yourself in this track while we patiently wait for the EP release.

With their scuzzy and feverish grunge riffs LUMER are fast becoming a manic force to be reckoned with. Recently likened to acts such as Yak, King Nun and Black Flag, LUMER have bloomed out of Hull’s thriving alternative music scene, holding the garage-punk torch aloft and lighting the way for the angry and the disenfranchised. Formed in the wintery beginnings of 2016, LUMER have develop their cryptic post-punk sound and have gone on to play high-octane shows supporting LIFE on their UK tour, Weirds and Vulgarians on their Manchester dates plus a performance at the prestigious Rough Trade Nottingham.

LUMER are Alex Evans (bass/vocals), Benjamin Jackson (Guitar), Jacob Wardle (drums) and Thom Foster (synth/guitar).
