Christ. Coupling, this need for us to pair up, the need to desire someone, to be wanted, to be loved and to love can be such a painful endeavor. We have all, especially during the turbulent whirlwind of youth, felt more hurt than happy when it comes to this instinctual need. "I'm Boring" by Austrian indie rock band My Ugly Clementine is full of that pain and those questions about being played, about staying or going: "for fuck say something, cause it's hot than it's cold, why do I fall for your show". The vocal aesthetic is crushing while the mid tempo sad lull explodes into potent downbeats.
it's the best thing about me
but I can be as insecure as hell
I do open if you let me
boooy do your research
that's how I am
I could be your sweetheart
seems like I'm just good enough for bed"
boy do I even want you
why do I care?
you make me
think about you
you make me stupid as fuck
and I'm not even in love
"I'm Boring" is the follow up to their stellar 2020 "Vitamin C" album.

My Ugly Clementine is a four-piece, non-male rockband, telling stories about self confidence, self love, respect and equal rights. Early on being labelled 'supergroup' for their setup of well-known figures from the vibrant Vienna music scene, they are combining all this with being damn serious about one thing: having fun! Nevermind finally someone is brushing off all the dust from those old rock guitars and is fitting them right into the world of today.
The brainchild of Sophie Lindinger (Leyya), the songwriter and producer gathered people around her that she always wanted to work with: The group now features Mira Lu Kovacs (of 5k HD), Kathrin Kolleritsch (aka KEROSIN95) and Nastasja Ronck (Lucid Kid).
Their first show got sold out within 20 hours - whilst no one had even heard a single note of their songs. Their first single, "Never Be Yours" reached no. 1 on the highly infuential FM4 Charts, followed by a wave of songs that gathered high airplay and streaming numbers all across Europe as well as invitations to perform at festivals like Reeperbahn, Eurosonic or Ment - all of them within few months of the bands existence. Spotify made them part of their global "Radar" campaign to shine light on the greatest new talents of the year in 2020.
Consequently, their debut album "Vitamin C" entered the Top 20 of the album charts back home in Austria in March 2020, brought them widespread positive reviews and the prestigious Amadeus Austrian Music Award the same year. They have also been nominated for the European Talent Awards MMETA recently.
