DOMS have let loose their heavy single “Night Man” / “Trapper II,” the next best thing to a live punk performance, with raw musicality and the sweat and grime almost palpable when heard. “Night Man” sets it off with simplicity and voluminous energy, garage punk at its finest with all the reverb and distortion your heart desires. Into “Trapper II,” a seamlessly frantic piece that feels like a score to a psychedelic nightmare, anxiously intrigued while falling down a spiral void. The recordings of this single capture the full percolating sound you’d hope to hear at a live show, if the sound engineer knows what they’re doing. Post pandemic DOMS shows will feel like a drug for the live music deprived zombies lurking towards the stage. Damn, I hope I get to see it too. Check out this new single and keep on DOMS for their ensuing releases to come.
