"Surrender" by Hong Kong based indie singer-songwriter, Shingaling, simmers on dreamy electric guitar lines, intricate bass lines, expressive drums and vox that are pop cool with eyes closed or looking past you at hard memories. The self harmonies are beautiful. The pop sway with touches of funk and light jazz affections are pierced by divergent synth sounds and a wonderful jagged breakdown in the last third section of the track. It seems to end too soon feeling like an opening score beneath an interesting new Netflix series.
"Surrender" is a follow up to the artists debut EP "Dopamine".
