Sonoa stay true on the indie rock amalgam "White Knuckles"

"White Knuckles" by New Jersey based indie rock band, Sonoa, is a patterned vox populi exercise that is so precisely crafted that at one point (I fully admit) I wanted to shake these guys by their collective shirt collars and scream at them, "Let the fuck loose!", even though their sound is unmistakably engaging and, yes, comfortable too. In fact, I flashed on an amalgam of Incubus and Death Cab but secretly wished there was a bit more Boy Hits Car. But what do I know and while the sound might feel, um, safe, I got lost in "White Knuckles" during 5 consecutive listens. It is a crowd pleaser and I am glad to be a crowd member in this regard.

"White Knuckles" is from the band's latest album "Forward Motion" which I look forward to delving into.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

A New Jersey-based indie rock band that tackles complex themes over smooth jams. Sonoaband.com

Founded in May of 2017 by songwriter/guitarist Gabriel Yoder Shenk and drummer Anthony Gallardo-Vega.

This song is about the forces of the world and how focusing on your passion so intensely can often result in impacting other areas of your life in ways you may not have planned. This is also the case in the reverse case scenario and how if you focus on developing many different skills, you might just end up being a jack of all trades that is only mediocre at each skill and a master of none. It's important to find a balance in life, but also just as important to figure out what's most important to you in order to make informed decisions and being aware of the sacrifices you might need to make to achieve those goals.
