Freedom Fry and Jean-Luc Eldenwood and the beautiful train of life "La Metamorphose" (Official Video)

"Perdu dans le noir, dans le couloir"

Freedom Fry, the married duo of French girl, Marie Seyrat, and American boy Bruce Driscoll dusted off a previous song written in English and released as "Some Way" on a 2014 limited edition vinyl called "Fan Club" and put a French twist on it. Now re-interpreted as "La Metamorphose” and done up as a duet with  French & American singer-songwriter, Jean-Luc Eldenwood it will be released on Freedom Fry's upcoming full length French language album.

Jean-Luc Eldenwood

I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the original version and, in fact, could not find it on line but "La Metamorphose" with it's pushed mid EQ'd bass lines, beautifully poised Fender Rhodes keys that cajole and the utterly engaging vocal aesthetic of Eldenwood and Seyrat is sublime. Singing in French, each performance on it's own is so densely intimate but together, their harmonies intertwine in magical ways. A sultry, cool sax and ascending string arrangement add to the allure. Love this.

You’ve heard them somewhere, whether you knew it or not - shopping, getting coffee, boarding a plane, on TV, on the radio, or on hold with Amazon’s Customer Service. The married duo of French girl Marie Seyrat and American boy Bruce Driscoll have self-created their own universe around music - producing, mixing, mastering, vastly growing a catalogue of over 250 original songs and covers and accompanying visuals. Whether it’s an emotional folk ballad or a fun pop banger about zombies in love, they have an unquestionable knack for melodic mastery and a catchy, timeless tune no matter the genre and for any mood. In 2016, the band released their hit single “Shaky Ground” in partnership with Universal Music.

Following the success of "Shaky Ground," in 2017 they released six more singles and two EPs. Indie Shuffle named them “Best Indie Rock of 2017." In 2018 they partnered with Kobalt/AWAL and released their debut album, “Classic,” followed by a 10-city tour that stretched from their hometown of Los Angels to Paris. This year, they’re releasing a 3-track EP every month and opened up their studio, The Cactus Garden, to collaborating with other artists. Freedom Fry songs have been remixed by the likes of Sofi Tukker and Penguin Prison. They’re a playlist favorite and have been supported by the tastemakers at Alt Nation, KEXP, ALT 98.7, KROQ, WXPN, SIRIUS XM, the BBC, and numerous iHeart Media stations.
