The relationship torn "Us And Them" by UK Newcastle upon Tyne based Palma Louca plays tender and sweet as well as raw and rough. The juxtaposition of tones. textures, sonically and emotionally gets under you skin. I love the guitar hook, the caustic sound, thick and slippery, which seems to have it's own narrative, bathed in a strong kind of self deprecating snarky feeling as if it is saying "this is my life... fuck me" in a cosmic joke sort of way. That can be obviously me self projecting (wink). Love the vocal aesthetic that is sometimes pulled back and sometimes brought intimately close. When the song breathes with wondering piano and ambient sounds, the song turns into a movie right before the big beautiful coda.
