"folding at the top of your life, weekends she never your type, how you gonna stop yourself?"
Stray Fossa's dream escape "Much For Us" starts with a cold wind, literally, and then thick synths, a tumbling drum beat and smooth, hush vox push out divine and sparkly pop tones that feel at once like a step back to 70's radio pop and forward to minimalist hybrid electro and post punk ethereality. The combination feels dizzy in a beautiful way. The song surprises and moves on tones that include harpsichord, cabasa and morse code. I am smiling at the thought. I have written about Stray Fossa quite a bit... they manage to, almost always, charm me, transport me to days that inspire. This track is from the Charlottesville, Virginia based band and dreamers' debut full length "With You For Ever" that dropped on April 9th. Album art by Chyrum Lambert (Grizzly Bear).
