Feng Suave and the Dr. Martens saddle shoe dance of "Tomb For Rockets"

"Garden gates we’re talking over, blades of grass are upright daggers..."

Amsterdam, a lot of good music comes out of this city. It is a city that I never remember visiting even though I was born a mere 39 miles away. My parents immigrated to the states when I was just a toddler, but yes, this Venice of the North seems to be a place that births a lot of music and interesting artists. Take Feng Suave, for example, a psych pop / soul outfit consisting of Daniël de Jong and Daniel Leonard Elvis. They have amassed a huge following who love their penchant for pearly bending guitar tones with tinges of lounge rock and tropical punk flavors and a deep affection for 60's / 70's bathed funk tones. Their latest "Tomb For Rockets", with a cool sort of 80's video tape cast Official Video, is an inviting R&B pop indie late 50's escape with Daniël de Jong's inspired croon and Daniel Leonard Elvis wang bar pushed guitar rhythms. The sounds are dreamy and the vintage wash nostalgic.
