AOI x homieunculus and the Wabi-sabi centric flow of "a single butterfly floating in the breeze"

"float away..."

Minimalism. It is a way of life that I am striving to dip my toe into, no actually I want to dive in completely because contrary to the belief, the mantra thrown at you by corporations, that a lot of things will make you happy I am finding out that the opposite is true. Strip down to the least amount of things you truly need and I think you will be happier.

I am also starting to listen to instrumental music more, especially minimalist productions because they feel more like a blank slate. Listen to "a single butterfly floating in the breeze" by AOI collabing with homieunculus and you will find a composition that breathes. Within those breaths you can find composure, If you are a creative, a songwriter, you might try placing your own lyrics onto the song. Then afterwards you have lyrics that you can place your own music onto. The pearly sounds and dominant though not overbearing beat will make you float (listen to this while taking a shower or swimming in a pool). The thick bells that have an analog, organic feel have a wonderful sound.

READ the press notey stuff (bracketted) below:

[Aoi Asahina, a 17-year-old from the suburbs of Tokyo, began making lo-fi study beats as a way to procrastinate studying. Growing up in a Buddhist family, she became familiar with the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which appreciates the beauty of things that are imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Wabi-sabi is at the heart of AOI’s music. Each release comprises three recordings that honor our flaws as things to be proud of, and our mistakes as hidden intentions. They are audio haikus in a way: little snippets of broken loops that, with every repetition, reveal their depth and meaning.

AOI releases her music via Godmode, the LA-based music company behind artists such as Channel Tres, Yaeji, and JPEGMAFIA. Her first release, “it was hot we stayed in the water,” arrived in late 2020 with immediate support from genre champions Chill Nation and Lost Fiction.]

Float away- release stress and then downsize your life.
