Mudbody - creative dadaism on Twitch informing the dark edges of "Weight Blanket"

"came into my life just like a crashing wave...."

Mudbody is half of the Swedish DIY duo, The Perfect Sign Language Pistol, and "Weight Blanket" from his recently released "Underachieve" EP, has dramatic edges contained in the Fender Rhodes-ish tones, the intertwined bass and guitar, mid-tempo measured drum beat and the vocal aesthetic that feels hushed and maybe a bit paranoid. The jagged tones, dark shifting breaks and piercing lead guitar work are so enthralling, that when the song slowly fades out you are seriously wanting more.

Mudbody also discusses music and more on Twitch. Interestingly, all the music on "Underachieve" was made in front of his online audience during 35 live streams totaling 95 hours. He offers:

"I explored how exposing the creative process influences it. The accountability-creating gaze of the camera was present while writing the songs, recording all instruments and mixing the tracks."

A daring but exquisitely interesting prospect. There is something about rising to the occasion and I can see that the desire to perform and entertain could clearly be a positive when it comes to creating art sort of on the fly. Very cool.

I’m a student of electro-acoustic composition @ Royal College of Music in Stockholm, run a recording studio, the lead singer/tech dork in band The Perfect Sign Language Pistol, and release solo work.

I focus a lot on my twitch stream nowadays. There, I make music and stroke my ego by talking with chat as if I know anything. Check it out at twitch.tv/mudbody.
