Half Speed and the illusionary alt pop sweetness of "Did I Imagine Everything?" (Official Lyric Video)

"my imagination gets the best of me..."

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to remember every second of my life and maybe that desire is built around the fact that my memories are so incredibly random. Then there is the experience of perception that often times rears it's bipolar head in terms of your relationships with people. You thought everything was peachy keen but that partner did not and you question your perception or lack there of. I thought of that when listening to "Did I Imagine Everything", the chill pop indie reflections of Australia based Half Speed, the musical project of songwriter, musician producer Ben Corbett.

“Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.”― Comic Steven Wright

The track is pushed by a lovely bass groove and bathed in a dynamic blend of lush layers, underwater guitar sounds and Corbett's easy going vox and self harmonies. It is sweet and disarming with lo-fi musical breaks that anchors it in divergent pop waters.
