Vogue George and the pulsating beautiful ennui of "Henaff"

"I lost my soul that I loved so much..."

It might be cliché to say but it still is universally true that often times less is more. Even more than that, sometimes (like right now) a deep groove / vibe of beats and pearly translucent synths and a male and female voice singing with tones bathed in frail nuances and in French accents, maybe somber or maybe caught in a net of uncertainty, is enough. Enough for me to escape cruel news and search desperately for rainbows at the edge of darkness.

That is what I get from the evocative track "Henaff" from Vogue George an artistic duo from Paris, cousins actually. It is from their first self titled EP and they share this:

"It's a song about meditation. And depression. And feeling that letting go is the only thing we can do, really."

-Robb Donker Curtius
