PHELIX and the free form jammy deep dive of "Livid"

 

"livid on wasted times / I feel like I've fallen behind..."

Toronto artist, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist PHELIX, the musical moniker / project of Eric Vanier exhibits jammy intentions and a sort of free form musical aesthetic on "Livid". There is deep pop rock dive with jazz affections dipped with bits of psychedelia and even lounge punk tones. He hands the lead guitar work to guest player David Hjin who absolutely kills. Vanier is not beholden to any genre specifically but instead plays and hybridizes all of them while he is studying music at Humber College Faculty of Media & Creative Arts.
