"an alt rock sound that screams post punk and cajoles witch punk on the very edges"
The parenthetical debut single, "Scream (All You Want)", by the Danish at rock duo, The Slow Scare is not only appropriate for the season but hard to pin down, blending genres, tones and textures and I love that. Vocalist/bassist Anna Haaning's vocal aesthetic simmers in drink of dreamy goth pop, darkwave places and Frederik Ejdrup slinky guitar work, a blend of surf rock, spaghetti westerns, psychobilly all through a punk filter makes me think of a crushing together of Duane Eddy, Billy Zoom (X), Matt Bellamy (Muse), Link Wray and The Reverend Horton Heat (Jim Heath). Anna and Frederik's counter poised sounds give "Scream (All You Want)" an alt rock sound that screams post punk and cajoles witch punk on the very edges.
Both diverse sounds come together forming an addictive brew and drips with cool vibes and maybe dark intentions. Check out the moody Official Video directed by The Slow Scare themselves.
