Ditz and the jagged politico pummel of "Ded Würst" (Official Video)

"and I don't feel as bad as I should..."

"Ded Würst" by Brighton (UK) based Ditz is a heavy handed pummeling juggernaut of a track built of bits of caustic noise, industrial punk tones, post and proto punkery, noise rock, politico punk, blood and frustration and is (as press notes indicate) "a short but definitely not sweet dissection of the misery, monotony and moral morass of minimum wage employment". Times are tough, the last decade has seen a larger separation between the haves and the have nots and huge corporations like Amazon systematically stifling choice and perpetuating a culture of economic hierarchies and the downfall of brick and mortar businesses.

The strident rebel cry of front person Cal Francis elevates the track and he expounds on the "Ded Würst" sound and the dichotomous nature of helping oneself but at the same time partaking in a destructive system, of being played:

“The consistent and logical rhythm recalls the working world and, for me particularly, the monotonous fast food kitchen experience. Lots of people have shite jobs that they have moral quibbles with and, with the pressure of wanting to have a positive impact on the world, it can become depressing knowing that you are actually part of the problem… for minimum wage.”

‘Ded Würst’ is the first single from Ditz’s debut album, which will be released in 2022 and has been recorded and mixed by Ben Hampson and mastered by Kate Tavini.

Inspired by the likes of The Jesus Lizard, Deftones, Fugazi, Converge, Foals, Slint and Eagulls, it is a short but definitely not sweet dissection of the misery, monotony and moral morass of minimum wage employment.
