Doo Crowder and the wonky beautiful open wound of "Pain"

"baby moved out, now it's moving in..."

Doo Crowder possesses a voice you do not easily forget and an artistic outlook that veers into the dark recesses of the human condition. Maybe he is the salt rubbed in emotional wounds or maybe the cold water rinse that washes away the salt (?). While I haven't quite figured which, I am thoroughly enjoying and fully engaged with his sonic stories. "Pain" is one such foray that Doo says is "another attempt at making a timeless song from an elemental theme. inspired by unrequited love & failed revenge, kratom, etc."

I am absolutely digging the dirty Fender Rhodes-esque keys, wonky bass and bending guitars that feels like graveyard honkytonk pushing a divergent musical wagon with square wheels. It is the kind of song, artist, aesthetic, gem that you might discover at a piano lounge in some nondescript bar in the middle of nowhere. An amalgam of artists like Man Man, Dr. John, Modest Mouse, John Lennon, Harry Nilsson all crushed into a bitter artful pill.

Oh, and below is also Doo's " "Doo Crowder Song" Official Video from 2020 as an after dinner smoke.

doo crowder (me) makes avant/traditional music (aka "praying in the dark-core") & released a concept album last year called "One for the losers (& other pilgrims) about human ego & love in a mad world. These recent songs were inspired by talking to only Celie Dailey and trying to be sane and healthy in 2020-21
