When will someone make a Google Maps for love. A way to navigate the ups and downs, the sharp right turns and short cuts. A way to feel so secure that you can glide through the dark at midnight with your lights turned off. I suppose that is too much to ask for but it flashed in my mind as I listened to the silky, groovy "Costs a Lot" by Halifax-based songwriter and Alt-RnB/Pop Artist, Nicole Ariana. The cool keyboard dives and downbeats, the racing heart beat bump and snaps, the droning synths, the falling vibe tones and especially Ariana's vocal aesthetic that is everything, self aware, brassy and resonant in the sustains, creates an empowered sonic sense wrapped in cool that you literally want to keep on repeat.
