Lithuania based artist, singer songwriter, music producer godo yorke cuts a deep and wide wake of emotions and sonic textures on her 2021 full length "In Silence, In Sirens". There is the ambient, surreal churchlike, naked intimate pain and beauty of "Garden", the dramatic falling puzzle pieces and killing quiet of "nyc" (So Real), the baroque gospel, grand fantastic journey of "Find Yourself In Love" that seems to exist on different planes of existence and the empowered cinematic fury of "The Pulpit".

For me a good song (of any genre) draws you into it's story. If compelling enough you want to read between the lines, know the back story and be moved by it all. "The Pulpit" with it's dark orchestration, pulsating synths and Yorke's inspired vocal performance makes you see it's own cinematic sweep. Yorke's vocal aesthetic goes from pained to gutsy to wildly self aware and art pop forward. The sustains, the rushed punches feel both badass and darkly pushed to the edges. I feel an amalgam of Fiona Apple, Lorde and Angel Olsen. 

She shares:  "I've had the chorus's lyrics in my mind for a quite awhile now. I wrote about how trapped I felt in a relationship that is both moving forward but is constantly being stopped in its tracks too. The instrumental of the song was highly inspired by nightmares I endured while writing this song. These were about me entering deep, dark and damp hell-like bars-pits and finding myself dancing among the devils."
