Pinemoon and the bittersweet reaffirmation of "Ghost Light" (Official Video)

"I saw beauty in those dark colored eyes..."

The translucent sound of "Ghost Light" by Denmark's Pinemoon is not only darkly dreamy but feels like it comes from another time. The evocative soundscapes like found lost footage feels born from the glacial sadness of 90's Euro post punk. The vocal aesthetic from composer, lyricist Christoffer Schultz (who also provided keys and guitars) has the flavor, the sense of somber reticence, the cold reckoning of what is in front of you as opposed to what you want to see in front of you. With Steven Stern Stewart's stoic bass anchoring you in the harsh bittersweet reality of life and death and maybe everything in between, the melancholia is, at least, so beautiful.

The title track from Pinemoon's upcoming EP "Ghost Light" due to drop on May 6th, 2022 via LIVE TALENT Records with the falling piano notes, stunning counterpoised guitar sounds and dominant drum beat played on an endless loop feels like a coastal fog that washes over you.

Pinemoon is a constellation of experienced musicians, who have been playing together for 20 years in different musical projects, and therefore their live concerts are characterized by intimacy and energy.

The EP entitled ‚Ghost Light’ is recorded live in the studio and mixed analog, which gives a warm, nostalgic sound and ensures that the music will emerge real and tastefully stylish.

The melancholic and nostalgic foundation is not only a musical tone, but it is also inextricably linked to the existential theme of the EP. The members of Pinemoon are raised in strong christian environments, where the confident belief in divine interventions in life crises and bad situations didn’t leave much space for doubting. The theme of the EP circles around the feeling of confusion and disappointment when a firm belief and anchored worldview meets the reality of life.

The first single, “Ghost Light”, will be released on March 11. On “Ghost Light” Pinemoon builds up a dreamy and grandiose sound, and the lyrics refers to a life left behind for the better. The focus track, “Dead End Street” will be released together with the EP. It is based on a strong melody and might show a little more optimistic version of Pinemoon.
