Bubble Tea and Cigarettes and the midnight heartbreak of "Leap" (Official Video)

"Lost in the days I can't go back / The blossom in your eyes / Before the cruel world found it..."

It would not be shocking to say that when you listen to "Leap" by New York based Bubble Tea and Cigarettes that you here the D.N.A of Beach House and you do but within BTAC's sound the melancholia feels less so even though the musical narrative here is ultimately heartbreaking. The soaring surf Hawaiian guitars sound more lounge punk then dour and the whimsy move around the celestial sounds like dancing stars. This counter position between a more jubilant sadness music wise and darkly somber and romantic storytelling may mess with your brain and your heart.

"Leap" is an advance single from "There's Nothing But Pleasure", the new Bubble Tea and Cigarettes album to be released after the summer in 2022, ready for dreamers to look at fall skies and wonder why.

The Official Video for "Leap" feels darky filmic and stirs up remembrances of loss or maybe ghosts of things meant to be.
