Sweden's KLOSTER
"Dimman Skingras" is the first track from Sweden based Kloster's self titled album. The three piece band comprised of Teodor Sjöqvist (Clarinets, Synthesizers), Jerker Österlind (Bass, Guitar, Moog One, Analog Rytm MKII) and Victor Galeano (Drums) who have been friends and making music since their early teen years, lay down improvisational instrumental songs, tapping into their evolved synergy or their collective DaDa or something like that.
I like that fact that "Dimman Skingras" builds on a basic progression and let's it roll in on itself, the basic changes aren't many but basic like they should be, a rolling jazz dipped, rock fusion meditative piece for layers of instrumentation to be place onto. This steady, cool, chill yet heavy groove becomes a sonic mantra that turns inside your brain and some of the layers become part of the mantra and some do not, either opposing or coalescing with it. The drums are subtle but rock steady and jazz fluid, pushing and shifting when necessary but only when necessary. Digging the guitar lines that either percolate or blues out and the clarinet work that ascends in lush ways. The ball is ever rolling and getting tighter. The tension is always ever so trippy, moving and cool.

Kloster consists of three friends that have been making music since their early teenage years, spanning genres from punk and funk to electronica and contemporary art music.
The members locked themselves in a studio in Stockholm for two weeks. The hope was to make an EP’s worth of material, but the creative vortex spawned two full length albums – recorded live and 100% improvised in the studio.
