The Kolour Kult and the orbiting romance waves of "Tell Me"

"Tell me every prayer you're thinking about sending / And all the deeds and actions you're intending"

"Tell Me" by Brooklyn based darkly romantic electronic two man band The Kolour Kult appropriately starts with a frantic synth arpeggio running like a speeding clock as if time is hurling by in the background. When Jack Wilmarth's commanding vocals drops in, daringly pristine without a lot of after effects and the production ramps up, courtesy of Martin Van Etten (on keys, guitar, programming) it feels emotionally grand. The overall aesthetic like something between a space opera and deep 80's avant pop strikes an interesting chord. I flashed on a diverse array of artists spanning genres and crossing generations like ABC, Erasure, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Spandau Ballet and The Art of Noise doused with the cosmic glitter of Giorgio Moroder and Alan Parsons.

"Tell Me" is from Brooklyn / Providence, Rhode Island based The Kolour Kult's 2022 full length "Reception".
