Conflict at Serenity Pools and the sugary kamikaze drink of "Rocky Waves"

"when I walk around and everyone is fuzzy..."

The latest single by Los Angeles based Conflict at Serenity Pools is the chunky, jangly, double time "Rocky Waves". The kind of surf punk beats and lounge punk guitar coupled with youthful almost twee pop synth melodies feels like Surf Curse colliding with a Mentos Commercial. The vocal aesthetic hits that weird psychedelic MGMT vibe when they went a bit off the rails (as in wonderfully non-commercial). All these disparate parts fit perfectly together. I dig it.
