Jonny Perrins and the smashing punk fury of "Dreary"

 

"you are so dreary, c'mon..."

I don't fully know the line of demarcation between poseur and punk in terms of attitude but you can hear it, you can feel it. Jonny Perrins crushing sound is as far from poseur as you can get. Listen to "Dreary" with his vocal punk snarl, a strident stack of guitar sounds that cast imagery of smashing things and a unbridled pushing cadence that pushes you in the chest (the beat is exquisitely in the pocket if not nanoseconds ahead of it). There is an overall impression of UK punk when it was a brand new in your face expression. Jonny as singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist is based out of London and "Dreary" is the follow up to his debut single "Mr Crazy Daze" that dropped March 11th, 2022.
