PREMIERE: Cat Piss and the artful alt-rock massive hammer of "Christopher"

"To the side / The boss calls me over with a finger / And I don’t mind / Till he says we gotta be / “Gone, go, go, go” / That’s the life / That you and I signed up for my friend..."

The unmitigated, uncompromising heaviness of "Christopher" by Omaha, Nebraska's alt rock magicians Cat Piss feels exquisitely as artful as it feels pummeling. The jagged descending strident rock prog give away to a full throttle dense guitar and bass punch while the heavy feral drums try to anchor it all in place. There is something happening here that feels somehow post punk-ian, while densely alt-rock heavy made even more atom smashingly dense by the song's double time nature. I love the vocal aesthetic and sonic countenance of the lead singer who (to me) has a wonderful art rock edginess. The bridge steps into proggy post hardcore places and slams into a quick outro (am I hearing a sax there?)

About the song the band: Sam Lipsett, Casey Plucinski, and Nathan Wolf share:

"Lyrically, this song was inspired by Nate’s 'Sopranos' binge during lockdown. The lyrics attempt to portray the mobster lifestyle as a life of servitude and sacrifice. Musically, this song is indebted to classic rock, making use of several rock clichés."

"Christopher" is incredibly massive, not cliché in any way and from the trio's upcoming full-length "Cat Piss Rides Again."

Cat piss consists of urea, uric acid, sodium, creatine, pheromones, bacteria, and felinine, an amino acid that gives their urine a distinct odor. An odor that makes your nose shrivel and your parents disappointed that you can’t bother to clean the litter box. Cat Piss, the Omaha band that consists of Sam Lipsett, Casey Plucinski, and Nathan Wolf, similarly disappoints your parents and makes everyone disgusted.
