Shadow Work and the proggy passionate musicality of "Abelia" (Official Video)

"Polly save me don’t feel like I’m coming back / My thoughts are nailed to the post / You’re hitting where it stings the most / And Polly tell me are they really all like that..."

Supported by a very cool filmic Official Video (directed / edited by Daniel Alexander), the ever shifting, artistically torn and burning "Abelia" by Denver based Shadow Work pulls you into it's fray. Musically dense, gritty passionate vocals and stylistically running the gamut from progressive soulful pop rock romanticism to psych rock eruptions to post hardcore breakdowns there is a lot to love here. The musicality it top notch, exquisite bass work, fluid biting guitar and rapid fire free form drumming. Digging this.

SHADOW WORK is a moody art-rock trio. Their dark, washy guitar textures, intricate bass riffs and dynamic jazz-inspired rhythms create an energetic framework for a tortured, soulful narrative. Based out of Denver, their live shows emit a passion for musical experimentation: Intricate time signatures interweave with progressive compositions, flowing from haunting and delicate to fervent and powerful.
