"Ой чого зелен дубе / На яр та й похилився / Ой чого ти козаченько..."
The latest from songwriter, composer, visionary, performance artist, DJ, producer Kadebostany (Guillaume de Kadebostany aka President Kadebostan) manages to stir your senses with seemingly counter-positioned artistic dioramas. You have world folk tones represented by Ukrainian singers Daryna Salii, Iryna Sizyk, and Vasylyna Tkachuk set against the amazing powerful and cool vox of Kadebostany’s new live singer Fang The Great and let me tell you he could have the moniker Fang The Awesome, Fang The Cool, Fang the Evocative and every name would be perfectly suited.
As creator, Kadebostany perfectly balances a sort of chill / sparse sound against grandly wide cinemascopic tones and therein lies the brilliant balance. The emotional tableau here contain melancholia, mystery, fate, destiny, death yet held up with faith, hope and the importance of people holding up other people. This one passage sticks to me:
"You remind me / What about a new life / (Cause) death / Comes with the same price / All I need is someone to stand by..."

Under the flag of the conceptual Republic of Kadebostany, Kadebostany rapidly captured attention far and wide with its singular brand of pop music, unique visual identity, and colossal live performances. Kadebostany draws a modern vision of pop music, best described by its leaders as "sophisticated music with mass appeal".
Love the guitar lines here and Kadebostany, someone who built a following via countless gigs all through Europe with evocative live electronic shows, goes for an organic sound in the quiet moments (like sunrise itself) and I love that. If Fang The Great's performance offers hope through the struggle, the sort of folk chant offered by the Ukranian singer feels pained and melancholy. As far as I can surmise they sing about what might be a fable about an oak tree and a little goat in a ravine. The sense is sadness but maybe the tree will lean towards the ravine... hope revealed.
