Bummer Camp and the driving euphoria of "Your Worth" (Official Video)

"show the world that your worth something / show the world what you have done..."

Like an quadrupled shuffled amalgam of The Drums, OSEES, David Bowie (Heroes) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (Freebird), the exquisitely euphoric "Your Worth" by Bummer Camp, the solo project of New York City based Eli Frank, feels like charging up that hill with all your friends in tow having your back. I also thought of those 5 foot sets at the Power Plant (HB) when I was young and could ripped them apart. Armed with a drum machine and an obvious ID empowered prowess over his guitar Eli has crafted a blistering piece of work that also has a wistful tone to it. It is the kind of killer track that must obviously induce wild moshy dancing live.

"Your Worth" is the first track from Bummer Camps eponymous album. Press notey stuff reveal:

Since arriving in Queens in 2019, Eli has emphatically made their mark on the underground scene; whether supplying guitar chops for angry queer power pop band Teenage Halloween, goofing it up with TOP nachos, performing the lo-fi bedroom folk of Winnebago Vacation, or in garage rock riff-slingers Punt.

I am seriously digging "Your Worth" and look forward into diving into all of Eli Frank's solo imaginings. Their ability to take a Gibson SG, loop pedal, and a drum machine and create something so vital is brilliant.

Bummer Camp is the new project from NYC DIY mainstay Eli Frank. An exercise in pure musical self-sufficiency and a chance to fully embrace their singular goth pop vision.

With Bummer Camp, Eli Frank takes their first stride entirely solo. Building something entirely their own. Armed simply with their Gibson SG, loop pedal, and a drum machine they craft an immersive world soaked in richly-layered textures. They explain how this played out on “This Moment”, “like most bummer camp tracks I started with the beat and then layered each new part on top until a solid idea formed. I always come up with lyrics last so that they fit into the vibe of the song, rather than the song fitting the vibe of the lyrics.”

** At this particular time we find ourselves in a financial pinch due to many factors. We want to keep AP going. It has been a passion project for over 13 years. PLEASE consider donating, we could really use the support. Thanks so much
