Holy Ship and the perpetual post punk / alt rock motion of "Hail Haze"

"It´s all a game, lets make a deal / We know there's something you conceal / And all the tongues they are tied up now / It´s slowing us down...'

The explosive drums / bass and sonically rich guitar attack of "Hail Haze" by Stockholm's Holy Ship, the ostensibly solo project of Jonatan Westh (Blackstrap), is so densely urgent from the onset that it overtakes your senses like a fierce storm. There are moments of reprise in between all the fury but the song does have the runaway energy of an action thriller, of running away from or toward something.

"Hail Haze" is from upcoming Holy Ship's EP "Sun Macabre!" and portends a dramatic post punk / alt rock sound.

Jonatan Westh launched Holy Ship in 2018, after his shoegaze band Blackstrap (V2, Tee Pee Records) had disintegrated after a decade. Building his own studio, ‘The Mothership’ in Stockholm, Westh mixed various recordings for Stockholm bands, Runtom Knuten , and danmarck which then sparked the recordings to what would be his new music as HOLY SHIP. Westh plays all instruments on the recordings except for drums by longtime collaborator David Götestam. With Holy Ship’s 2019 debut EP Event Horizon – it’s blend of psychedelic grooves, shoegaze and dark synth anthems- gained praise from tastemakers such as US’s KEXP, Breakthru Radio, BrooklynVegan, IndieShuffle, and Swedish blogs Hymn, Savant Musik Magasin. Holy Ship has since expanded its existence outside the studio as a powerful live band with a handful of shows in Sweden in 2019/20 –and Summer Festivals in 2022.

** At this particular time we find ourselves in a financial pinch due to many factors. We want to keep AP going. It has been a passion project for over 13 years. PLEASE consider donating, we could really use the support. Thanks so much
