Little Lizard and the artful funk punk appetite of "Carl's Chuckwagon" (Official Video)

"when the track drops and a colossal party sub comes into view..."

Minneapolis funk punk duo Little Lizard is back with the seriously quirky deliciousness of "Carl's Chuckwagon". Elevated by an Official Video that might put you in a food coma (it did me) you have a bass line that feel like it is telling a story of empowerment under the glitter ball. As the bass sweeps around machine beats against a horn that feels contemplative but with a quirky swagger and synth keys stab out sounds from an 80's cop buddy movie, there is a playful deep cool of East Coast Tom Tom Club-esque art punk and art pop whimsy. Not to mention that the Official Video is a lot of fun.

Little Lizard is the offbeat duo of multi-instrumentalists Lizz D. and Shea Daniel, combining trombone funk and bass punk to create their own style of instrumental music.

Minneapolis funk punk duo Little Lizard wants you to get down to their cold-blooded groove. Brassy and offbeat the duo, consisting of multi-instrumentalists Lizz D. and Shea Daniel, combine trombone funk and bass punk to create their own style of instrumental music. Minimalist in nature Little Lizard packs a punch with in-your-face melodies and cutting basslines over drum machine beats. Varying their sound with synthesizers, vocal samples, and theremin Little Lizard will make you regret quitting band class in school.

Built on the desire to do something different Little Lizard was formed by best friends Shea Daniel and Lizz D. in 2017. Laying out the blueprint to their brass forward sound on EPs Break a Tooth and My City is Cherry Flavored the duo turned their attention to making Little Lizard a live band. With Lizz D. on bass and Shea on trombone and synthesizer the duo solidified their sound on stage while putting together material for their first full-length Premium Vanilla. Released in 2019 Premium Vanilla was recorded in one day in Brooklyn, New York and is a tropical tinged testament to their live sound.

Between tours and regional run outs in support of Premium Vanilla Little Lizard began redefining their sound by adding new instrumentation and writing material for their second LP Earthlings. Inspired by their love for classic Sci-fi and B Horror films Earthlings takes the listener on a funky flying saucer ride complete with dueling synthesizers, metallic 808 beats, and Lizz D. on trumpet and theremin. Earthlings is out now on Guilt Ridden Pop Records.

** At this particular time we find ourselves in a financial pinch due to many factors. We want to keep AP going. It has been a passion project for over 13 years. PLEASE consider donating, we could really use the support. Thanks so much
