Mari Dangerfield and the magnetic quirkpop allure of "Love Machine" (Official Video)

"I think I know you, thought that the minute I looked deep into your eyes..."

The Official Video for "Love Machine" by London singer-songwriter, musician, creator and do it yourselfer Mari Dangerfield, like the song, is beautifully fun, wonderfully escapist and ultimately magnetic. There is something about Mari's vocal aesthetic that feels aloof, seemingly unaware, utterly ID and I love that. Her musical choices are as attractive as they are art pop quirky. Her bedroom pop sound that, at times, has a sort of casio-fied 8 bit quality combined with truly catchy melodies and, well, a stunning chorus (that is to die for) will undoubtedly get stuck in your head.

I can only imagine that if you do not like "Love Machine" that you must have a festering putrid evil heart akin to Donald Trump's or Marjorie Taylor Greene's or Ron DeSantis' but I digress (sorry).

Mari's debut album "Love And Other Machines” drops on November 18th, 2022 and press notey stuff reveal:

[The songs on "Love And Other Machines” explore the connections between emotions and technology and are filled with love songs that use objects and gadgets as songwriting metaphors. She made her first appearance on the music scene after winning a Mute Records video competition. With a knack for fragile songs bursting with originality, Mari Dangerfield's sound is consequently hard to define. Coining her sound ‘Quirkpop of the mind, body and laptop’, her productions are characterized by rich vocal harmonies, catchy hooks and cinematic arrangements.]

I really dig this and big props to Mari's amazing dance partner Yasmin Dan.
