"Nagual" by mixed media artist / avant synth pop alchemist Geneva Jacuzzi, and from the 'Meditations on Crime' project featuring King Khan, Animal Collective's Geologist, Gang Gang Dance, and more, is a sultry, wide eyed surrealist sonic art piece. The framework, runaway machine beats, tense sinewy synth rhythmic bass lines, droning ambience and Geneva's beautifully quirky, upside down vocal countenance take you on a ride that you don't want to stop. Their is a sense of late 70's proto punk and late 80's baroque gothic dark wave. 

If "Nagual" was a movie it be a fanciful, equally beautiful and terrifying French New Wave / science fiction / neo-noir film as directed by Jean-Luc Godard's spirit. 

Speaking of imaginative directors, the Official Video of "Nagual" stars and is directed by the magnetic Paz De La Huerta.
