Death By Armborst and the two fisted glorious heaviness of "Factory" / "John The Baptist" EP

"it's my task to survive with society swingers..."

The four piece alt rock / punk hammer of Death by Armborst out of Gothenburg, Sweden is adrenaline on high, is an exploding heart, punching at the sky and screaming a the moon at midnight. I was introduced to them via the track "Factory" that came out over a decade ago which lead me to their current EP "John The Baptist". I guess it is my job as a music writer to describe bands and or their songs and while alt rock and punk feel right, they also feel like umbrella terms. There are cross generational elements of heavy metal, hair metal, art rock, glam, scream core, emo-post hardcore filtered through heightened iterations of noise rock and punk. It is gloriously jammy and I envision young people snapping their necks head banging and pray that backstage (besides assorted adult drinks) that there are copious amounts of Chloraseptic throat spray and hot honey lemon tea.

Listening to both "Factory" and the current "John The Baptist" EP (my favorite tracks being the potent late night driver "Stay In The Shade" and the punching desert rock brawler "In The Cradle") I thought of a diverse amalgam of artists from 60's Detroit rockers MC5 to Led Zeppelin to Touché Amoré to Eagles of Death Metal to
Killswitch Engage all smushed together but totally fresh and Swedish. Check out Death By Armborst and don't hurt you neck.

Death by Armborst is a punkish 4-piece rock’n’roll band from Gothenburg, Sweden. “When Fabian Brusk Jahn, Oscar Berg, Johan Albinsson and Joel Bjurbo are at their best they succeed perfectly, like The Bronx, to combine furious punk energy with a stable rock’n’roll ground wich is hard to resist” Patrik Wirén, Gaffa “MC5 and The Stooges multiplied by The Hives and The Bronx. The insane slam energy comes out with the red-hot guitars, pounding drums and loud non-stop zeal. Frontman Fabian Brusk Jahn spits out all the aggravating, depressive feelings into the lyrics. And the ragged, screamy vocal catchiness is charged with a high dose of lively rampage." - Grotesqualizer
