Crocodiles and the punk romance and bravado of "Love Beyond The Grave" (Official Video)

"hey I'm no romeo with poison in my brain, I'm just a sucker you love beyond the grave..."

Hey, boys and girls, you gotta find love where you can, true love anyway. The infectious punk pummel of "Love Beyond The Grave" by the LA punk rock duo Crocodiles, who has been churning out their romance punk wave sounds for at least a decade, is a blast, a lead foot classic punk burner. The sound is a broad one, punk rock with 50's bare bones rock ghosts. Doo wop punk / surf punk, a sound more emotionally grounded than the amazing punk silliness of The Ramones but less surf pop rock-esque than retro artists like SeƱor Kino. I did think of The Mopes a wee bit but Crocodiles are their own thing with (dare I say) lyrics that dive deeper and have a more nostalgic grit.

Crocodiles is, at it's core, Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell) and their upcoming LP, "Upside Down In Heaven" is set to drop April 7th, 2023 via Lolipop Records). The fun, amazing "Love Beyond The Grave" Official Video was directed and edited by Kate Clover, with camera operator by Allan Wan.

Rowell shares this about "Love Beyond The Grave":

"Amidst all the chaos of life there is one certain truth - that we will all die. Being a fan of heavy metal and books by such writers as Anne Sexton and Allen Ginsberg, I find it quite comforting to write about death. I probably have more t-shirts with skulls on them then I do any other article of clothing. I’ve lost many friends and most of my immediate family and the train never stops moving from station to station. The lyrics follow a person who’s scared by the living and revisits past haunts in an attempt to distort normality and find true love with the spirits that inhabit this world; from hometowns to historic street corners."
