Great Park Avenue and the alt rock punk punch and swagger of "Pete My Teacher"

"look for the answer ask for the clues..."

"Pete My Teacher" by Central Stockholm's alt rock quartet Great Park Avenue is a gleefully raucous tribute / homage to Libertines Co-founder UK artist, poet, songwriter, actor Pete Doherty (Babyshambles and Peter Doherty and the Puta Madre). With 80's power pop / indie rock / surf punk energy and a break that free falls into ska / two tone iterations plus extremely tightly wound musicality and a snarky, snarling lead vocal aesthetic, "Pete My Teacher" is a high energy mosh worthy banger.

'Pete My Teacher' was recorded in what used to be a public women's bathroom and mixed at the Kapsylen studios in Stockholm. The band says: “The bathroom with its tile walls is a rather unconventional room for recording but we've made it our own sacred place and we're absolutely in awe of the atmosphere of this magic loo.”

Based in the heart of Södermalm in Central Stockholm Great Park Avenue are fun-loving rascals in tailor-made suits living for their vivid live shows and connoisseur vinyl DJ-sets. Their own private habitat is an old women's bathroom with tile walls in a shut-down conference center in the suburb where parts of the band grew up. They would never pretend to be anything they are not but they look like they were taken from a British film like Quadrophenia and sound like an updated version of mods Britpop from the 70's via their idol Pete Doherty but nevertheless with their very own ID. Their melodic and well crafted songs and tight band sound has been buzzed about after a handful of great singles and an EP along with some smashing live shows. In 2023 Great Park Avenue are getting suited up for spreading the world far beyond the borders of Sweden and releasing their second EP 'Limitless Prolific Divineness'.
