Bridge Dog and the burned / turned pages of "Blue Flags"

"you would sing along to the radio it still echoes in my ears..."

Bridge Dog from down under (do people still say that?) on their dreamy, melancholy "Blue Flags" infuses the pain and promise of the human connection that feels forever young. Whether you are 12 or 18, whenever you have your heart shattered into bits for the very first time it feels like you are picking out the shrapnel for years to come, maybe for your entire life.

"Blue Flags" feels like diary or journal passages opened up for the world to see, maybe as it's pages are burned at a beach campfire. The band blends bedroom pop atmospheres with twee, with 90's jangle pop through a mild shoegaze / indie rock haze and punch. The tender somber vocal countenance adds to the emotional imagery of sideways glances and swallowed tears.

"Blue Flags" follows the the momentum of the Eora (Sydney) based band's last release, "Counterweight", which featured on local and national radio, landing us our first official Spotify playlist spot (Fresh Finds: Indie).

Based in Eora (Sydney), Bridge Dog is a band increasingly in pursuit of something different. Burying jangle nostalgia beneath a shoegaze-y haze, they are developing a sound which is simultaneously dreamy and energetic, gentle and harsh.
