Los Gondos and the unrestrained psych garage rock blows of "Violence"

When garage rock bands get it right, it is a glorious thing. On the track "Violence", Portland, Oregon's Gondos get it exactly right. The heaviness of the walls of guitars (or guitar) is perfectly rendered, like a monsoon but not stabbing your eardrums, the sound, in conjunction with a warehouse sound of bass and drums and mid range distorted vox is perfectly executed. Like when you see OSEES (I have seen them a half a dozen times) they might be the loudest band I have ever seen (apart from Cheap Trick back in the day) and you will be partially deaf for days afterwards (if you don't wear ear protection). You do NOT want that sort of experience per the mix on a record. While Gondos record live to analog tape to fully capture a raw live rock sound, whoever is mixing / eq'ing is doing a superb job. 

"Violence" with those John Dwyer-esque spring reverb guitar sounds feels like a collision of OSEES, Ty Segal, Jay Retard but their own thing and is the perfect soundtrack for unbridled angst filled youth.
