"it won't take much to feel at home / what's left in the rubble / what's left in the stone..."
"Waistline" from Seattle based Media House's recently released debut album "Modern Museum" moves urgently like running from something or to someone. Founder Tyler Parsons steers the ship in a wonderful DIY way, recording and producing Media House's sound. The density of that sound, the constant sonic percolations, bass and drum push and full force vox feels incredibly active and potent. It, in fact, feels like everyone had a hand at mixing, this is not to say that everything is loud in the mix but every aspect is certainly present and well represented. The mix is in your face but in a good way. I especially love the guitar sound and the puzzle piece way that all the sonics (including the lead vox and lead guitar melodies) fit together. "Waistline" is progressive rock softened with bits of lounge pop and surfy indie tones / power pop atmospheres.
The band calls the track "a gritty indie/alternative track meant to highlight the chaotic nature of addiction". "Modern Museum" is out now.
