"you stay / under my thumb / I don't miss some..."
The dense, gleefully sideways pulse pounder "Drunk TV" from Austin, Texas based Motorsports is a drum heavy, progressive alt rock bit of post punkery. The ever winding bass line, super active guitar lines and strident yelping vox conjure up late the 70's, early proto-punk artful experimental machinery of the Buzzcocks, Magazine, Pere Ubu, just to name a few. I am feeling post punk, mod rock, new wave and power pop distillations too. Besides the fluidity here, I am loving the guitar stabs, high pitched and bending, the tribal tom tom beats and the gang vocal eruptions.
"Drunk TV" is the first single from Motorsports' second EP "Saddles in Mind"!
Fucking great stuff.

post-punk aligned trio motorsports was formed in 2022 as a metronomic, noisy, and fuzz infused roommate project. shared between logan krupovage, clay hadley, and travis norton, the band began playing together in the den of an old house in denton, texas. after hadley and norton’s graduation from the university of north texas that same year, the trio moved to austin, and a new chapter began. shifting away from the ‘wall of sound’ fuzz tones, motorsports latched onto a sense of angularity, coming to fruition in their 2023 release, “saddles in mind,”. glittery yet gutting guitars contrast it’s self against a bold, beckoning bass, neatly enclosed by their drummer’s lucid discernment.
