From Celebration Guns' 10 year Anniversary Re-Master of their 2013 "Quitter" EP, "The Wait Is Over" along with the 5 other tracks is less of a re-master and more of a compete over-haul. The Phoenix, Arizona indie rock /post punk stalwarts put the album up on the lift and installed updated vocals, new bass track on some songs, ALL new, real drums by Timothy O’Brien (RIP Garageband drum loops) as well as remixing and actually having it all professionally Mastered for the first time.
If you feel like comparing the old with the new and improved like I did, it is starkly different, the proverbial night versus day, black versus white, lo-fi to studio quality kind of difference. That being said, the absolutely raw punch is still there, the sort of seeds of British rock tones, the 90's post punk illusory atmospheres, the dynamic edges, bottom heavy drums and bass, the pearly breaks and heavy down beats that feel dramatically drawn. I also very much appreciate the upfront vox, nearly at the point of over-modulation.
Feeling a nostalgic sound, maybe a collision or amalgam of artists like Swell Maps and Mission Of Burma.
