"ride in the cool rain / through the endless day / finding some rough terrain..."
Starting like the remnants of a faint dream as you are waking up "N.J. Rain" by Montclair, New Jersey's indie rockers LKFFCT quickly starts sprinting with big bass lines, punchy drumming, and sprite crunchy guitars. The cadence is urgent but not feverish, there is a good natured sense of leaves turning color and maybe fresh new changes ahead too, "shedding some new skin / I haven't even worn it in", with melodies saturated with what feels like survivorship, with hope of better days. I am digging the the overall vibe and the rousing jammy outro.
As someone who consumes a lot of music, "N.J. Rain" feels like the kind of song that knows that life is full of bruises and surprises, some fucked up and some full of light, but in the end there are always things to appreciate. At least, that is my take away.

"When I say I mean it / I mean I've got no clue / 'till my bones, they crumble / into dust..."

Formed in 2012 in Essex County, New Jersey. We were called Lake Effect but a bluegrass band from Illinois threatened us with legal action. Now we’re called LKFFCT and that disemvoweling never really made any sense, but nothing ever does am I right? We’ve released a couple of full length records over the years The Flower Investment Pawn, Dawn Chorus, and most recently We All Hold It up Together.
