The idyllic 60's graced doo wop punk dreaminess of ""Diana Ross" by angelic milk, the indie rock band iteration of Berlin based, Saint-Petersburg- Russian singer-songwriter Sarah Persephona, is so lovingly rendered that it feels like sonic found footage of a vintage Phil Spector side project. While 2019's amazing "Divine Biker Love" album leaned into more garage rock punk places and the forays into distorted doo wop, "Diana Ross" plays it cleaner, falling into tender melancholia and themes of unrequited love. The absolute wistfulness flows into the dreamy sad lyrics too.

To my good friend’s band show
For a moment I thought it was you in the last row
Every night I feel like the little mermaid singing
“If I don’t see the Prince I’ll die”
But every morning I wake up and somehow
I am still alive
And Diana Ross is singing “Someday
we’ll be together”
But I kind of dealt with the fact that this song is not about
angelic milk is now based in Berlin and Sarah Persephona's current bandmates are Jura Titov (Menk) and Vitaliy Zimin (Pivnoy Cowboy). I dig what I am hearing but then angelic milk and Sarah solo always have a lot to offer.
