dilute_calico98 and the cut glitter sprinkled magic of "grimm"

"just get back in the car / I want to talk to you..."

The mysterious dilute_calico98 is back with another magnetic track called "grimm" that once again serves my addiction for a particular 90's sound. Just like "ufo" that I wrote about on Feb 24th of this year I feel that particular cut gitter sprinkled magic of the kind of personal bedroom pop and iterations of heavy metal compressed or distilled into something else. On one hand some of the sounds dilute_calico98 mines here, the ringing guitar notes and jangle punk shapes could be considered tropey but d_c98 pushes past those tropes and makes them unique, pretzel bends them into something else. I am feeling the youthful pain and rebellion of the Smashing Pumpkins like I had on his previous work but that's quite ok (I dig it). I think that has more to do with my perception than any direct sound dilute_calico98 give us.

My hope would be that "grimm" or "ufo" finds it's way somehow on a Netflix or Hulu binger about one of today's subcultures, about the youthful angst that repeats, happens as long as there are young people.
