"it don't take a genius to see through it all / money on the wall - muh muh money on the wall..."
The funky shifts, the unfettered corny cool, the unbelievable love for Prison Mike are not the main reasons I am so enamored with "Money on the Wall" by London bred, Brighton UK based singer-songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Leo Aram-Downs. Not saying that the soul pop flair, the jazz dipped progressions and the sweet vox (effected and not) aren't gorgeously cool but what does it for me is the lovely, blistering one minute long lead drop during the Steely Dan-esque throw down outro. It is extraordinary in it's depth and nimble shapes. Like a jazz rock lead reflection in a carnival mirror, it would surely make guitar God Pat Metheny smile ear to ear.
