Det Metra and the stoked memories, exquisitely chill vibe of "Theme From The Place Beyond The Pines"

"money can't change my life / I'm not afraid to take your life / tonight..."

There is something exquisitely chill yet slightly subversive, retro glazed yet quirky fresh about "Theme From The Place Beyond The Pines" by Det Metra. The vibe, summer nights downtown and a blend of revival rock, doo wop punk and neo funk / R&B indie  - like The Strokes jamming with The Growlers and Chicano Batman (or something like that) feels so amazingly cool. Perfect for any house party. Not only that but the song, for me, is one of those that stoke up memories, like past haunts, past disappointments, once in a life time moments and Ryan Gosling with face tattoos.

From the band:

[Cozy crooner alternative song about a bank robbery, and the power money has to change our lives dramatically. Inspired by the movie 'The Place Beyond The Pines']
