"attracted / distracted / you go with the flow / but it's never gonna happen..."
The rapid fire Swedish punk pummel of "Not Enough" by three piece stoner-rock / alt rock Repeat, namely Stolkholm's guitarist / vocalist Torbjörn Hallberg, drummer Johan Holmberg (formerly from Liberator) and bassist Mattias Belin, makes for a massive hyper attacking sound. As opposed to screamo, the vox are chrystalline clear for punk but not any less raucous and the song feels subversively at the edges of skater punk, good ole' QOTSA alt rock, and blended punk iterations you would have heard at Vans Warped Tour (Rest In Peace). It is blisteringly Ramones short which is perfect for this feel / style although I could have easily chewed on another minute. I thought almost instantly of a a shotgun amalgam of Metz and Mclusky (or something like that).

[Stoner rock/punk band Repeat from Sweden released their debut album "Repeat" last autumn. The album got praise from tastemaker media both in Sweden and internationally. As soon as this June the follow-up album "Rat Race" is due.
Repeat says: "We were pleasantly surprised by the attention the debut album received both in Sweden and internationally. Since we already had a number of additional songs ready, we immediately went back to the studio, once again with Joakim Lindberg as producer. The result was 9 new songs, a total of 18 minutes. We really prefer the short format and most of the album was recorded in live takes.”
The album "Rat Race" will be released on 7 June digitally, on vinyl and on cassette. The album was produced by Joakim Lindberg in Studio Sickan in Malmö during January 2024. It was mastered by Magnus Lindberg in Redmount Studios.]
