Toy Monsoon and the multi-shaped psychedelic rock fusions of "Clouds"

"tattered clothes and broken nose / we go on / headed nowhere / just worshipping the clouds..."

The punchy melancholy and resolute starry eyed exuberance of "Clouds" by Boston based indie rock psych leaning Toy Monsoon doesn't move in straight lines. Much like the emotional slack line balancing of youth, there is a wonderful amount of gradients to their sound expressed in surprising guitar attacks against indie rock swinging intricacies. When the song comes off a free wheeling lead strike and falls right into jazz dips it surprise and works and when it ramps up into psych rock eruptions it all feels right and gloriously tumultuous, again, like youth itself. Appreciate the original musicianship, the rock solid anchoring drums and bass, the forays into what feels (to me) like songwriting that may have blossomed from cross generational seeds, from 70's classic and garden rock, from 90's post punk, from early aughts surf punk / desert rock and more.

Digging the narrative, the cinema of it all and what feels like innate songwriting.
