The indie-lo fi heart (a little crushed but healing) of "100usd" by Nashville singer-songwriter, artist Bennett Heidelberger, eases it's arms around your waist and pulls you in near like a close friend. The well constructed song with emo bones but well orchestrated flesh that helps tell Bennett's personal reflective stories surprises with more abstract musical breaks and chunky indie rock eruptions then you expect.

[My dear friends helped bring this song to life over the past year at a home studio in Nashville, TN. It is about being in a relationship and knowing you tire each other out. I was at a show with my friend, begrudging my tiredness, when she said, "if you say you're tired one more time, you owe me $100."]

"100usd" appeals to my inner need to hear small intimate stories, especially after the culmination of such a historical election whose outcome filled me with hopelessness. This peering into the micro instead of the macro, listening to the sonic arts has made me feel better maybe because I know there are good people out there. There has to be.
