Cape Crush x Good June and the joyous, youthful forever power punches of "Apple at the Aggy"

"You’re headed off to Jersey / I swear we won’t be far behind / I’m unforgivable, you’re a formidable voice in my head..."

The joyous, youthful forever power punches of "Apple at the Aggy" by Boston's power pop outfit Cape Crush in collaboration with emo rockers (and good Bostonite friends) Good June, is a blistering indie rocker with girl / boy vox, a crush of celebration rock (Japandroids came to mind) as well as 90's slacker rock / power pop atmospheres of artists like Tiger Trap filtered through the chunky alt rock power pop massivity of an artist like Jimmy Eat World, at least that is what I am sensing / feeling of the top of my head. Anyway, comparisons aside, "Apple at the Aggy" is an incredible banger, emotionally drawn and somehow wistful with diaristic lyrics that have the appropriate amount of emotional pull while have mystery in terms of their poetic nature. I like lyrics that tell stories that obviously have deeper meanings that I might just have to interpret, guess at or make them my own.

"Intuition, uncertainty
You’re see-through I see right through you
Then there’s a knock at the door, you’ll buy my story I’m sure
About how we were just killing some time

I’m unforgivable
You’re a formidable voice in my head"

Oh and the non lexical singing, "na, na, na, na, naaaaa" is an infectious sing-a-long, the bass sway, powerful anchoring drums and rousing layers of guitars that hold up the evocative vocals trading back and forth is just perfect, as are the artful slamming musical breaks.
